LOVED hanging out with John and Keri. We ventured all over the Charlottesville area on Saturday enjoying the day. Our stops included a cute little chapel on Garth Road, Whitehall Vineyards, the Downtown Mall and a fantastic late evening dinner at C&O. Jason and I are looking forward to revisiting historic Ash Lawn-Highland this summer for John and Keri’s wedding celebration.

Pete and Jen’s wedding celebration was all about being together with loved ones in a relaxed backyard atmosphere, complete with lemonade, iced tea, BBQ and fried chicken. What a wonderful way to celebrate Independence Day! Their intimate wedding was shared amongst their family located at a private residence in Charlottesville that morning at around 10 AM. The morning was a quick paced one… after the ceremony, Jason and the group dove right into portraits. Immediately following were the toasts and cake cutting (Chandler’s Bakery), followed by a scrumdillyumptious lunch catered by Belmont BBQ and Wayside Chicken.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think John and Lindsay may have taken us to a burger joint in Harrisonburg whose burgers are better, if not just as good as Riverside Lunch in Charlottesville. That place is called Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint, and maybe they’re so good because that’s all they serve. Well, there’s fries and deep fried Oreos, too. I had ordered an Oreo, but never got around to eating it. I felt like I needed a gurney after eating there, but everything was soooo good. This is where John, Lindsay, Jason and I all went to eat after shooting John and Lindsay’s engagement portraits. We started inside their lovely home that John had finished building recently, and then we all headed to JMU’s Arboretum. We look forward to their wedding next year in May, which will be held at Lindsay’s father’s magnificent property in Great Falls, VA.
Jason and I spent a lovely late afternoon with this gorgeous couple in the quaint area of Belmont and a yummy evening at Mas. We are looking forward to their wedding in late August, which will be celebrated at the Omni. Many of their family and guests will be traveling from Croatia, Germany and other places abroad. I look forward to the diversity, culture and esoteric food!
It was a day full of laughter, smiles, tears and love. Steve and Amanda were married at the lovely UVA Chapel on April 18th. Their day began with beautiful weather, wine tastings and brunch. After their ceremony, I left the chapel where Jason shot portraits and headed toward the Greencroft Club. The Greencroft is one of my favorite places to shoot in Charlottesville. The grounds are naturally beautiful without being overly manicured. The rooms are all well lit with an abundance of windows, and the staff is super cool. Oh, and the food is amazing!
The one thing that Jason and I recall the most from that weekend is how lovely the families were together. There were so many moments where I hid behind the camera in tears.
This adorable couple in love is Amanda and Steve. They’re getting married on April 19th here in Charlottesville at the UVA Chapel with a reception at the Greencroft Club. They ‘met while attending Mary Washington College. Both were collegiate athletes, Business majors, and had mothers who went to the same all-girls catholic school, at the same time, in Akron Ohio.’
Stay tuned for more Steve and Amanda, when their wedding pics will be posted later next month!
