Super sweet, super cute couple Scott and Mandy celebrated their wedding two weeks ago at the UVA Chapel. While crazy thunderstorms and torrential downpour loomed overhead during their rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, their wedding day was beautiful, sunny and warm. After the ceremony, the party continued in Afton as everyone was shuttled to Veritas Vineyard and Winery. Our third photographer Rae joined us in documenting the fun. The reception was incredibly high energy and guided by a fantastic dream team: Calla Carver ensured that the day flowed efficiently, Rick Haggard kept the party dancing and Teri Edwards created one of the most delicious cakes EVER. Seriously. Here are some of my favorite images from their wedding day.

I paint a picture
you’re too beautiful
to put into words
like a gypsy
you dance in circles
all around me
and all over the world
It’s only natural to get wrapped up with all of the details and duties of managing a wedding photography business. The meetings, the social networking, the blogging, the accounting… keeping up with latest trends and technology… and the exploration of rediscovering ourselves as photographers and human beings. Here we are at the end of another wonderful year… the year of 2009. This is the moment where we reflect on our experiences. Why do we really do what we do? What does it all mean?
It’s about love.
I can’t believe that the forecast called for 100% chance of rain on the day of Emily and Ben’s wedding. It didn’t seem to bother them one bit, though! The bridesmaids were even adorned with cute rain boots! Congratulations Emily and Ben!
Dan & Rebecca’s wedding celebration took place at the lovely and enchanting Clifton Inn. Jason and I love the Clifton staff… their attention to detail is impeccable. We also were happy to work with Hedge Fine Blooms again. Karen Walker and Karen Thorsey really emanated the feeling of late summer-early fall in their floral creations.
Although the clouds early in the afternoon looked ominous and eminent, it only sprinkled for a few minutes right before the ceremony. Then the clouds swiftly scattered while sunshine and lingering droplets shined on Rebecca, the lovely bride, as she walked down the aisle. Her dress was amazing, and her shoes…. well they’re Prada. The cocktail reception and dinner had a tapas style flair. Yes, bacon wrapped dates made a cameo appearance. The evening continued with dancing until the wee hours past midnight. Afterward, the bride and groom and remaining guests continued the rest of their celebration at the pool house.
This is Mandy and Scott. Adorable, funny and very smart. Scott is a mathematician; he works in a field that my fragile little mind cannot comprehend. My temples start throbbing whenever the need for simple arithmetic arises, which is weird that I am actually a pretty decent poker player. I’ll talk about that some other time, though. Mandy and Scott are getting married next year at Veritas Vineyard, and we are so happy to be a part of it.
Looks like squooshy fun! Jason, Wil Walker and Jen Fariello had a little photo booth action time at Greg and Ginger’s wedding this past Saturday at Edge Hill.
