The Wedding Planner Magazine

Cover Photo by Jen Fariello

A few months ago, we were asked by the editor of the new magazine, The Wedding Planner to write an article, and we were happy to oblige.  Our article is called How to Find a Wedding Photographer Who’s Right for You.  It offers a few general guidelines that we hope will be helpful to anyone who is looking to find a photographer whose style and personality will match their vision.  The Wedding Planner is now available.  If you would like a complimentary copy, please call 434-960-2234 or visit here.  We are so grateful to be given the opportunity to be a part of a great wedding resource for Charlottesville.

I will kiss you,  I will kiss you

I will kiss you forever on nights like this

I will kiss you,  I will kiss you

And we shall be together

We would go driving in the sun
Into a world where we were one
We’d close our eyes and we’d become
As free as the sun and moon that shone

Michael and Aimee: Christ Episcopal Church, Glen Allen/The Hilton, Richmond, VA – January 30, 2010

Jason and I met Aimee over a year ago when we photographed Jerome and Karissa’s wedding which took place in Palmyra and Richmond.  Aimee’s brother Shawn who is good friends with Jerome played an important role in their wedding as well as Michael and Aimee’s.  He also sang karaoke country music style at both weddings, and I must say, the man is quite good with a microphone.

With all of the blizzards and feet of snow that central Virginia has been pounded with lately, it really made for some exciting and challenging moments for everyone.  There was the concern if the guests were going to be able to attend the ceremony in Glen Allen because of the treacherous weather.  Despite numerous worry, there was a fantastic turnout to the church with some folks even arriving during the ceremony.

The Hummer limo.  For anyone who decides to get married in the winter, you need not worry about transporting yourself and the bridal party anywhere with a Hummer Limo.  It will get you to where you wanna be.

Most of the guests were staying at the new Hilton in Short Pump where the reception was taking place, so they were really able to just kick back and have a great time while it snowed like crazy.  This new hotel is really beautiful inside!  The interior decor as I remember was very sheik and modern contemporary, with creme and blue accented furniture.  Fountains and soft colorful lighting.  Loved it.  I even adored their in-house shampoo and conditioner that I used on the second night when I ran out of my own.

Michael and Amy.  A cool couple in love.  They were married in the midst of a blizzard, and they are so happy.

This is our first encaustic wax piece creation.   It stands at 14″x14″.  This effort was created by Jason Keefer and Leah McDonald.   Jason met Leah last year at the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) convention and trade show in Las Vegas.  Leah merges mixed media with photography, beeswax and oil pigments creating ethereal, dreamy and sometimes moody one-of-a-kind works of art.    I am so looking forward to meeting her and attending her workshop at WPPI in March.  She will also be displaying our work, which for that we are very honored.  Jason and I are also excited to now offer this service to our clients.

sometimes a wind blows

and you and I

in love

and kiss

in a darkness

and the mysteries

of love

come clear

and dance

in light

in you

in me

and show

that we

are love
