Matt and Kristen are getting married in October at the historic Miller & Rhoads which houses Hilton Garden Inn. I’m so excited… it’s so beautiful inside, and Matt and Kristen are so cute and fun! Jason and I spent an entire day with them hanging out and getting shots of them at a favorite coffee shop, Chimborazo Park, Main Street Station and St. John’s church where Patrick Henry orated the famous “Give me liberty, or give me death…” speech.

LOVED hanging out with John and Keri. We ventured all over the Charlottesville area on Saturday enjoying the day. Our stops included a cute little chapel on Garth Road, Whitehall Vineyards, the Downtown Mall and a fantastic late evening dinner at C&O. Jason and I are looking forward to revisiting historic Ash Lawn-Highland this summer for John and Keri’s wedding celebration.
We are so thankful for Seth and Artemis suggesting Monticello for engagement portraits. I abashedly admit that after living in Charlottesville for nearly five years, Jason and I haven’t taken the time to visit some of the rich history that surrounds us. The day before the shoot, Jason and I, along with our third photographer Rae and her hubby, Brad, embarked on a small journey to Natural Bridge. We got to check out one of the seven natural wonders of the world along with Foamhenge and the caverns. I am quite impressed with our weekend enriched with history, sightseeing and campiness (i.e. Foamhenge). Look out for pics of our trip… more to come…
I am looking forward to this wedding. The entire ceremony and reception will be held at Maggiano’s in Tysons Corner in early October. Artemis’ dad will be officiating the ceremony in a traditional Iranian fashion. An entire day filled with diverse culture, fantastic food and fun promises to be a delight!
Jason photographed the wedding of Peggy’s sister, Betty Ann a few years ago at the University of Maryland Inn and Conference Center. This Halloween, Jason and I will be documenting Bob and Peggy’s wedding celebration at the very same location. Perhaps we will see a few guests in costume?? Even more exciting for us will be seeing family and friends again that we have grown a connection with from Mike and Betty Ann’s wedding.
Ben and Emily have been friends since the sixth grade, but they started dating a couple of years ago. Now this school teacher and police officer will be getting married on September 26th at Old Trail in Crozet. I spent a late afternoon with them and got a few great shots of them on Emily’s parent’s vast property that included rolling hills, endless trees and meadows.
The dense trees inside Burke Lake Park offered us shelter from the rain, so we were able to shoot Nathan and Christina’s engagement portraits with pleasant cloudy lighting. They will be getting married in January at the lovely Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, VA.
Tim and Melissa are both two beautiful US Air Force officers who are going to be tying the knot in October at King Family Vineyard in Crozet. Being that they are stationed apart, we were lucky to get the two of them together for an afternoon engagement session before Tim’s flight back to Texas. Their engagement portraits were shot at the lovely UVA Rotunda.
