Meggy has given meaning to the phrase ‘barefoot bride’ as she waltzed down the aisle beaming at her newlywed husband Ronaldo, eye to eye… side by side, and not wearing any shoes. The setting of their marriage took place in the front yard of Meggy’s grandmother’s house in the sleepy, historic town of Bermuda Hundred. I was surprised to find out that the vast body of water that ran along her yard was the James River. Jason and I frequently go tubing on the James in Scottsville during the summer.
Anyhoo, their wedding was a delight. Everything from a rehearsal dinner at Kabutos Japanese House of Steak in Midlothian (the Hibachi chef launched a piece of chicken in the air for me to catch with my mouth, but instead got stuck on my forehead), running through cornfields, and watching two families of two different cultures (Ronaldo and his family are Brazilian) bond together by the magic of interpersonal love.
