On November 14th Friday evening, the Public Housing Association of Residents honored graduates of the Resident Leader Internship Program, and helped celebrate 10 years of service. The celebration was held at the Legal Aid and Justice Center on Preston Ave. In attendance were graduates, their families, PHAR members and supporters. It was a festive and impactful occasion as graduates took the stage to share their success stories. Jason and I were there to document the festivities.
PHAR is a nationally-recognized non-profit organization, founded in 1998 to build grassroots leadership among public housing residents in Charlottesville, Virginia. PHAR’s mission is “to empower low-income residents to protect and improve our own communities through collective action.”
Jason and I had first listened to the Montebello String Quartet a month ago performing at Andre and Charlie Anne’s wedding at King Family Vineyard. Their music was absolutely beautiful and provided such a wonderful enhancement to the wedding celebration. I had the pleasure of spending a couple of hours one morning with the four talented musicians. If you would like to find out if the Montebello String Quartet is available for your wedding date, please email them at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 434-979-3278.
The weather on Sunday morning was absolutely glorious… a huge relief for us and for Philip and Melissa, since we’ve had to reschedule their portrait session three times due to inclimate weather. These portraits were taken at Veritas Winery in Afton on a most beautiful autumn morning.
