Rob and Katrina’s Engagement – UVA – Charlottesville, VA

Utter cuteness.  This is how I describe Rob and Katrina.  I mean, look at them.  Jason and I shot their engagement portraits throughout the UVA lawn and the Corner.  The weather was one of the most beautiful autumn days that we have seen this year (October 26) so far.  Anyhoo, here are a couple of shots of this lovely couple on that lovely day.

The Ahn Family – Boar’s Head Inn – Charlottesville, VA

Jason and I spent Sunday afternoon with the Ahn family in and around their beautiful neighborhood nestled  behind the Boar’s Head Inn.  Mr. and Mrs. Ahn’s eldest daughter, Rachel will be graduating from St. Anne’s-Belfield School this year, and I was so happy to capture her senior portraits along with portraits of the whole family.

Mac and Ashley’s Engagement – UVA – Charlottesville, VA

This lovely couple is going to tie the knot next year on May 23rd.  Their ceremony will be held at the UVA chapel, while their reception will be celebrated at UVA’s Alumni Hall.  Jason and I are the lucky photographers to cover it.  Here are a couple of shots from their engagement shoot with Jason.  Seems like the three of them had some fun tromping around the UVA lawn and garden areas.  Jason was even lucky enough to catch a listen to Mac playing the banjo and Ashley on the keyboard guitar!  Afterwards Mac, Ashley and Jason settled the evening at Michael’s Bistro on the Corner with drinks and dinner.

Todd and Sara’s Wedding – Delfosse Winery – Faber, VA

Todd and Sara are our best friends who got married back in May, but we are highlighting their wedding now because… well, we didn’t have a blog back in May.  Since then, Todd and Sara have moved to Austin where Sara is working with a new law firm.  We miss them badly, but we will be taking a trip to visit them next month, yay!

Jason and I eloped nearly three and a half years ago.  We did not have a wedding.  Todd and Sara enabled us to experience the wedding planning vicariously.  We accompanied them everywhere from ring shopping, dress fittings, picking out table linens and floral designs.  If you haven’t figured this out already, a lot goes into planning a wedding.  Luckily, Sara was on top of things.  She’s got to be the most organized person I know.  If she ever gets tired of being a lawyer, she can always consider wedding planning as a fitting career!

Jerome and Karissa’s Wedding – Louisa County/Sheraton – Richmond, VA

Jerome and Karissa’s wedding ceremony took place Saturday, October 11 on a beautiful family farm in Palmyra, about 20 miles southeast of Charlottesville.  Karissa spent most of the early afternoon getting ready inside, while Jerome and his buds went four wheeling all over the property.

Jerome and Karissa had a simple ceremony shared with their family and closest friends.  At one point in the afternoon, a team of thoroughbred horses curiously gaited by to watch the family portraits taking place.  I don’t know who was more excited, the guests or the horses!

After the ceremony at the farm, everyone got in their vehicles and proceeded to the Sheraton in Richmond.  Jason and I met up with photographer Rae Czekanski, who was photographing all of the wedding details there.  Jerome and Karissa shared a lovely first dance, followed by an incredibly delicious dinner.  The evening ended with karoake sung by Jerome and his best friend.  Wow.  Their karaoke numbers drew many delighted and curious hotel guests to the reception area.  What a fun day!

Andre and Charlie Anne’s Wedding – King Family Vineyard – Crozet, VA

Andre and Charlie Anne could not have asked for more perfect weather than on Friday, October 2nd, on their wedding day, no sirree!  Friends and family gathered outside King Family Vineyard’s pastoral setting under clear blue skies and watched the happy couple take each other’s hands while saying “I do!”  Charlie Anne’s Mom added most of the decorations and personal touches, while Pat’s Floral Designs decorated Charlie Anne and her four lovely bridesmaids with beautifully accented floral bouquets.  Friends and family as far as Canada and London traveled to be a part of the celebration.  Photographer Rae Czekanski joined me and Jason in shooting the evening festivities.  I think that Derek Tobler really set the mood for the evening.  He is one of our favorite DJ’s to work with.  He’s got that intuitive capability of feeling the party and the people, oh, and he also knows how to dance!  He had a new dance to teach that night, too.  Something like, move to the left, left, left, left, kick four times, move to the right maybe four times, kick some more, then jiggle in place… kind of like that, maybe.

Adam and Evie’s Wedding – UVA Chapel/Ivy Inn – Charlottesville, VA

I mean, how cooler of a name can you get than with Adam and Evie? This happy couple was wed on September 27, 2008 at the UVA Chapel, and celebrated their reception at the quaint Ivy Inn in Charlottesville.  Jason and I photographed Adam and Evie’s rehearsal the day before the ceremony at the chapel, and then spent the evening with their family and friends at Adam’s restaurant, The Local.

I could not have been happier with Evie’s color choice of floral designs and decorative accents.  The orange hues were something similar to a vibrant orange sherbet.  Evie’s event coordinator, Robin Martin-Lawson made sure that the day ran smoothly.

The reception was fantastic.  The Ivy Inn staff were wonderful, and their food was divine.  Adam and Evie’s guests were some of the best dancers that I have ever seen, and it turns out that one of the guests actually is a dance instructor.  Go figure!
